Under his moniker Wes Ambien, Leonardo Galvez stitches together spontaneous lo-fi music. The Yonkers, New York-native taps into an array of influences, which include new wave, funk, and hip-hop, into glitchy compact songs. Much of these tunes are compiled in Galvez’s debut as Wes Ambien, Homebody, which was self-released this past month.

Record standout “If You Wanna” is a constantly shifting track which transitions in-and-out of influences with ease. With a cut-copy feel, Galvez stitches together stretched-out guitars with a patchwork of sounds. In a slick arrangement, stuttered vocals are sampled over a drawn-out and skewed medley of obtuse sounds.
