Primitive Lips is a four-piece from New Jersey that synthesizes the spacious textures of dream rock and the refined structures of Britpop. Thus far, the band has released a four-track self-titled EP, which was released on cassette by Like Young Records.

The one-off single, “Image of Truth”, is a whirlwind of spry guitars and lush wistful melodies. Channeling a moodier Jarvis Cocker, piquant baritone vocals are swept up into the soupy haze that folds in twitchy bass lines and phase-soaked guitars. As the swift swirling instrumentals dance among themselves, the track swells into something grander.
