This release is part of a three-track premiere series with Spare No Expanse.
The mind behind the project Eigenface is prepping an LP under a new moniker. Requiett is making their debut under their new name with the record, Lighter, out on ambient label, Spare No Expanse. With the new project name, Requiett is also finding inspiration in new sources that include field recordings from St. John’s Cathedral in New York and multilateral interpretation of the divine.
The radiating cut, “Fan of Infinity” could be an epic accompaniment to a cinematic sequence of a Ridley Scott-esque science-fiction dystopia. Pluming with scuzzy synthesizers and an unfurling sonic landscape. Jangling of warped metallic sounds run congruent with shapeless ambiance for a slow creeping melody. Mid-way through, the composition begins to crystallize into single strands of drone purrs that gradually fade.
