Based in Brooklyn, NY, Patio injects rigidness of math rock into a delightfully breezy package for the first preview of their debut EP, Luxury. The quaint trio, consisting of Lindsey-Paige McCloy on guitar and vocals, Loren Diblasi on bass, and Alice Suh helmed at drums, match the gnawing of Parquet Courts’ erratic guitars with the cooling zest of Eskimeaux’s gentle ballads. Entwined in angular melodies and syncopating rhythm, McCloy’s soft vocals ease the tensions given off by the tight guitar and bass lines.
Luxury (out on 4/22) sounds like it’ll be a pretty good segway into spring.
