Following up his quietly fantastic debut, Northern Exposure, Joseph Black is releasing a set of new tracks. The Highland Park-based musician’s sound reeks of influence of C-86 and the blend of congruous new wave that can be heard on Capture Tracks. The Wildest Dreams EP is first of three releases that make up a cassingle series that will draw out into the spring of 2020.

The title track, appropriately named, is a woozy dream with vast ambitions. Swelling with beady guitars and dizzying synths, Black creates am ambitious mosaic that remains intimate throughout. Warm and bouncy, “Wildest Dreams” is a refreshing track that kicks off what is presumed to be a picturesque series of releases.
