Taking their name from a term for a complex form of superior mirages, Fatamorgana makes music fit for panoramic and uninhabited landscapes or even planets. The dark-synth duo is based in Barcelona, Spain and released their debut record Terra Alta on the London-based label, La Vida Es Un Mus DIscos. Members, Patrycja Anna Proniewska and Louis Harding, started the project in the summer of 2017 and self-released a cassette-single that same year.

“Universo” is a minimal new wave with canyon-spanning electronics and symmetrical patterns. Driven by new wave and krautrock inspired rhythms, Anna Proniewska’s mechanical delivery is synthesized with the track’s static motor. A feint ambiance of wind field recordings blows throughout the track, adding a surreal element to the track.
