Emma Bowers is a musician based in Brooklyn by way of New Hampshire. Her debut EP, In The Morning, is inspired by her move to New York to pursue music after studying in Europe. Recorded in the woods of her home state with the help of friends George Barber and Andrew Johnson, the record is a reflection of Bowers’s transition between the academic life to the chaotic world that is New York.

The assured opener, Tired Thing, is twilled folk that is both cozy and illuminating but posses the weary melancholy, patinated by city living. With vocals akin to a Hope Sandoval, Bowers’s willowy vocals center the swirling folk number. Articulating a state of vulnerability, Tired Thing is a track that renders the nuances of the daily grind.
