When not playing guitar in the band Boyscott, Alex Nicholls makes music under his Elf Rage moniker. A follow-up to the demo EP Happy New Year, Nicholls has released his latest, Force Of Nature which serves as the first official release for IFM (abbreviation for Intelligent Freak Music) Enterprises. For the Memphis-based musician, Force Of Nature is another collection of crude yet catchy compositions.

An alternative mix of “Drink More Water” is a wonky gem that should stand as the universal anthem for hydration. Playing off a warped synth riff, the hobbling track feels crude but its janky ambiance adds to Nicholls’s strange charisma. Remind me to drink water more often.
