DANGÜS TARKÜS feels like a comic caricature brought to life or he’s just here to bring back rock and roll. The solo project helmed by Joe who is also one-half of the Brooklyn-based power rock band, NANCY. TARKÜS’ 7″ record was put out last year on Lumpy Records.

The single’s title track “BINKY BOY” is a rush of amped up guitars at a zipping pace. Rolling with the quirks of DEVO and the infinite energy of the Mael brothers, TARKÜS sounds like he was zapped by a baleful of electricity. Nimble idiosyncratic hooks and shrilly vocals make up the potent stomper that’s relentless fun all the way through. Thrash on Wayne.
