It’s been a while since we last heard from Dan The Human, to the point where I got a bit worried. For the better part of last year, Dan was rolling out a new batch of songs every few weeks, spoiling us aplenty with his immensely catchy two-minutes of magic. Nine months since his last batch of songs, Dan, the elusive punk wunderkind, is back with a pair of new songs.

Bursting with crunchy riffs and ping-ponging jangle, “Taste Buds” is a refreshing rush of pop and punk that can’t quite embrace the divisive (or no longer?) pop-punk tag. Beyond that, I don’t know, I’ve never been able to find the right words for Dan’s music. I think Dan has this low-key fool-proof formula to draft up these lo-fi gems. I still don’t know who he is, but I damn it, I want more music.
