The Boston-by-way-of Maine five-piece, Coke Weed shared another track ahead of the release of their fourth LP, Mary Weaver (via Beyond Beyond is Beyond 10/9). The latest sampling from the upcoming LP, “New Jive,” has the band relaying MC5 via crunchy psych riffs over a patient groove. The track is rife with the heavy neo-psych that anchored the band’s sound for the past three records, complementarily paired with the band’s new-found appreciation for glam rock. Juxtaposing the wave of muddy instrumentation, lead singer Nina Donghia sweetly recants a night of post-show “war in the street” antics.
