Charlie Murphy is a project based out of Falmouth, UK, not to be mistaken for the infamous CHARLIE MURPHAAAAAY. While we don’t have much info on the band, a few blog posts we could dig up point to the project’s mastermind to be a member of The Red Cords.

In addition to be the debut material from Charlie Murphy, the rambunctious “I Wana Be (Someone Else)” is the first release under Murphy’s own label, Nerve Centre Records. The pleasantly clamorous track is reminiscent to the rowdy garage sound of The Gories with the bursting playfulness of the now defunct Harlem. Stricken with a case of boredom, Murphy sings of basement hangouts turning into a case of regret, with the playful hook “I wanna be someone else.”
