“There’s no escaping the rust”. The members of Portland-based The Woolen Men want you to leave and head anywhere but home. Through their own “in-house” label, Dog’s Table, the group is putting out their latest record Post. The band specializes in bright and loud post-punk with the added artifacts of krautrock and psych-rock.
Propulsive rhythms instill a constant bounce on the record’s exuberant opener, “Brick Horizon”. Guitarist and vocalist, Lawton Browning, exalts prophetic lines about leaving your comfort zone in the dust while making an Oz-esque reference. The track soars with dead set syncopation and infinitely slick riffs, ushering hesitant listeners to jump on that brick road.
