Part-time Furnsss member Tom Naggy released his solo debut (recorded with Furnsss’ Brenden Dyer) earlier this year under his moniker cool dad. Now known as spellbinder, Naggy uncorked a darker sound on his new record ‘ease the pain and renew hope’ (on tape via Bald Spot Records).

On “law of contagion” Naggy channels Kevin Shields on a more modest scale (think Yo La Tengo’s Painful) for the blurry mid-record track. Starting off with scantly lit rock, the nifty 3/4th hook paired with a series of “what do you call” casually succumbs into a murky puddle of sadness.
