Jack Stauber – “Oh Klahoma”

Pittsburgh-based musician Jack Stauber imbues much of his wonky personality into his music. His latest record, POP FOOD is his attempt to make accessible music, moving away from the raw and experimental bedroom pop sound heard on his previous.

Oh Klahoma” is a stand-out wonky cut from his latest. The track opens with splats of jovial chords and a caper bass. The wonky and carefree melody rightly summarizes the record’s youth-y and whimsical tone, which is also attributed to Stauber’s quirky personality. Minimally glam that translates to glossy bedroom-pop, the instrumentation is strewn like cotton candy and ditzy charm.
