Getting his debut, sunburn put out on tape by the prolific Z Tapes, Jordan McGuire’s project, moving in is an uncovered gem. The Forth Worth, TX product draws influences from post-rock and bedroom music to concoct sprawling yet intimate music. Much like the hallmark slowcore bands and his fellow Texans Explosions In The Sky, McGuire’s music builds on anticipation and patience.
Leading off with the unfurling “strawberry“, it’s reminiscent to Red House Painters at their most vulnerable and sentimental. With a slowly disintegrating melody, its frail guitar work, adrift vocals, and stoic percussion will leave you behind in a smouldering daze.
