The Districts – “4th and Roebling”

Hailing from a small Pennsylvanian town, The Districts “write honest music and are passionate about doing so,” according to their refreshingly blunt description of themselves. Following the success of their self-titled debut EP, the band announced the release of the LP A Flourish and A Spoil, on February 10th in the U.S., and featured the first single off the album, “4thand Roebling,” on their website.

Despite the oldest member of the band being 20 years old, The Districts have a vintage, blues inspired style, while staying true to the modernity of an up-and-coming indie band. It’s hard not to find yourself getting lost in the sound of lead singer Robby Grote, the same way he gets lost in the performance. The youthful, high-energy tracks are not exclusive to the live shows they put on however. Rather, the passion extends to the intimacy of your speakers, and creates a special relationship with you and the music.

If the anticipation is paralyzing, fear not, for the LP is available for pre-order digitally from iTunes, or on a limited edition purple vinyl from Rough Trade (only 300 in stock).  You don’t need Katniss Everdeen and the 13 districts when you have this one!
